It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Well, it's been CRAZY busy around here with work, Christmas, sewing, puppies, etc., but I thought I would share a few pics with y'all.

Don't ya just love Christmas tree lights?  I used to just sit on the couch in the dark with my cup of hot chocolate and look at the lights.  It was such a peaceful time of quiet reflection.  Sigh.  Now when I turn off the lights to look at the tree, I hear puppies barking and kids askin, "Mom, why are the lights off?  I'm trying to do my homework?"  ugh!  There is no such thing as "quiet" in this house anymore.  Oh well!

Here it is in the light.  See that banner?  Wanna see a close up?

My SIL printed that out and cut it out for our Christmas pictures we took Saturday (for the Christmas cards).  After we used it, she hung it on the tree.  Isn't that cute?  I love it.  She found it on Pinterest (of course).  You can get your banner here.  Your welcome.

So, one more thing.....it snowed last night in Arkansas..  Yes, you heard me right - and it's not even Janury.  So, the sun is now out and I can hear it pouring off the roof as it melts.  Sad.  It didn't last long.

It was just enough snow to be pretty, but the roads were clear so school wasn't cancelled.  Can I get an AMEN?  AMEN!!!  WOO HOO!  Happy dance!  I've got tons of sewing to get done today and I don't need four kids in my hair.  However, I'm supposed to substitute 4th grade tomorrow so I'd be cool with school being called off then.  A girl can dream, right?

Have a great Wednesday!

  3. Beautiful, Tanya! Love the banner!

I know just how you feel about snow days--they're nice when you want them, huh? Wouldn't it be fun to be able to put in an order for inclement weather just when it suits you? :)

  4. Pretty tree! Enjoy that kid chaos while you can! Before you know it (really! I know everyone says it but it's true!) they'll be off at college. Of course, I'm not saying a girl can't get used to a little peace and quiet. ;-)

  5. I love how you decorated your Christmas tree and the banner is the perfect finishing touch! I've heard from a good number of my Arkie friends and family who said they got snow, as well...so JEALOUS! Happy Sewing!

  6. I love a room lit only with Christmas tree lights. So pretty. You tree looks so nice and the banner is cute. Great idea to put it on the tree after using it for photos.
Thankfully we haven't had snow yet (North Carolina...well our mountains did but not near us). Today is rainy but temps are in the low 60's. I love the mild weather 'cause I know the cold is coming soon.

  7. Cool idea to use a banner on the tree! I love to look at Christmas tree lights. I hope you'll get a nice quite evening soon to do just that.

I can't believe that it is already snow time. It's rained cats and dogs here but no snow.

  8. What a great idea about the banner. I love your tree. I love to just sit and look at mine too. Yours is prettier, though.

  9. And I love the banner at the top of your page. If you've had it around a while, I've been to distracted to notice.

  10. I'm the same way with lights. You crack me up. Fortunately my boy sleeps like a rock, we have no dogs and DH has a man cave - wanna come over for quiet reflection with me sometime?
