Well, My Husband Loves Me Again!

Okay, so he never actually stopped loving me, but let's just say that there was a source of contention in our marriage.  Any guesses?  Nope, not money.  We don't have any of that to fight over.  Not the kids, unless we happened to be fussing on whose turn it is to brush their teeth (I hate to brush teeth).  Nope, our fight always involved this:

Nice, huh?  Okay, so it wasn't really a fight, but more of a minor annoyance.  Hubby HATES it when I hang my plastic grocery bags on the pantry door.  It drives him NUTS!  So, HE decided to put them in the laundry room.

Ummmmmm, nope!  That's annoying to ME!  I can't even get to my dryer buttons and I have more bags piled on top of my dryer.  UGH!  Okay, so something HAD to be done.  I've been telling Hubby I'd get one of those grocery bag storage hanging thingees (yes, that is the official name), but I kept forgetting to look for one when I went to the store.  BUT, I knew I could make one anyway.  I just haven't had time to get to it, until today.

I kind of winged it with mine using scrap fabric from my stash, but I did find a great tutorial here if you want to make your own.

So, I didn't really have a problem with hanging the bags on the pantry door, but I must admit that it is much easier to open and close the door now.  I'm just glad Hubby is happy.  You know what they say, "If Papa is happy, maybe he'll give mama a night off from brushing the kids teeth".  That's how the saying goes, right?  No?  Y'all don't say that?  Okay.  Maybe it's just me.

  1. Oh, I just did something to deal with my bags too! I love your cute little bag.

And girl, I am with you when it comes to brushing the teeth of small ones...I'd rather scrub the toilet!

  2. Your new bag certainly is a lot cuter and neater than a clump of bags hung on the door. I try to always remember my reusable bags when I shop because I hate accumulating so much plastic. Inevitably I forget and our pantry gets overrun with them. Isn't it great when a project like this makes you both happy?

  3. The fabric bag is a lot cuter than before! Isn't it funny how certain things just get under a person's skin.

When my kids were little I used every single song and dance routine I could think of to make teeth brushing go smoother- never worked!

I thought toddler teeth brushing was hard until I tried to brush my dog's teeth. He didn't appreciate my attempt to freshen his breath!

  4. So funny. We have a pile of them on the pantry floor and that drives me nuts. My hubby hates when I leave anything on door handles. I've tried the over-the-dryer route as well! I think I will get a bag. In fact, sadly, I think I already have one. Just need to find it. Thanks for the giggle.

  5. That's so funny! I could have taken the same picture, but the plastic bag hanging on my pantry door has recycling in it. Just don't have room for a recycling bin in any of my cabinets - so that's where it goes and I hate it! Like your solution to your bag problem!

  6. OK, I just posted a comment. Where in the hoodie hoo did it go? Sigh.

I love your solution and you cracked me up about the tooth brushing. If Papa ain't happy... LOL
