Bring On The Pumpkins!

So, fall is upon us and I'm so excited.  I'm ready for the cooler air.  I am ready for haybales, the soup and chili, falling leaves and.....pumpkins.  My kids are asking for pumpkins every single time we hit Wal-Mart.  My two youngest kiddos both have field trips to the pumpkin patch in October.  So, I've been thinking about doing something different than the usual pumpkin carving.  Last year I wanted to do a monogram pumpkin, but never got around to it.  I'm definitely doing a polka dot pumpkin this year, since dots are my thang, y'all.  Here are a few other ideas that I thought were super cute:

I love the Silhouette dog, but mine would have to be a boxer.  Cute ideas, right?  So, how about you?  Will you be doing the typical carving?  Just decorating with natural pumpkins?  Or do you have something just a little different up your sleeve?

  1. I know I'll buy some pumpkins, but knowing me, they'll stay plain. Last year we had a pumpkin carving party. I'll have to start planning that because it was fun and then I had a cute pumpkin ready for Halloween night.

  2. I love pumpkins and fall and this time of year in general. It is my absolute favorite weather! I love polka dots and monograms and WILL be incorporating them both into my decorating this year. I bought two really nice size pumpkins last weekend and will be buying more this weekend. I LOVE the pumpkin patch and will probably go even though my kids are both too old to enjoy it (so they think)- ha!

  3. I love those candy corn pumpkins! How cute :)
My husband is the artsy one (graphic design background) so he usually comes up with the designs. We've had some cool ones like a creepy house and a spooky cat, etc. But the last couple of years it's been a been a basic jackolantern face. We've gotten busy and then suddenly remember we need to carve the pumpkin and settle for basic. Maybe we'll start early this year!
Love the cute ideas you shared.

  4. Yay! I can finally leave a comment!
Cute pumpkins, especially the candy corn ones. My usual thing is to get several pumpkins for setting on the porch, etc, to last through Thanksgiving. I do let the kids carve one for Halloween. Pretty boring, I guess.

  5. LOVE the candy corn pumpkins - I spied those on Pinterest. Do you Pinterest? It will rock your world I promise!

We always carve pumpkins as a family for family night, but I also like to decorate with pumpkins in other ways as well. I'm excited for the fall too!!

  6. The topiary one is my favorite. I'm such a cluck when it comes to pumpkins. I never do anything creative. I really want to try this year.

Yeah... right. We'll see how that one goes.
