Emmy Fashion 2011

Okay, last night was one of my favorite nights on TV.  That's right.  It was Emmy night.  I loooove Emmy night.  I really like all the award show, but the Emmys is always the best because it's so much more relaxed that the Oscars, but not so relaxed that half of the folks have their buzz on, like the Golden Globes.  The Emmys ae never dull, but my favorite moment had to be the Best Actress in a Comedy award.

Okay, on to the Emmy fashions.  Red proved to be "the" color this year.

I looove Kate Wislet. This is by Elie Saab.  There is a short train in the back.  Gorgeous!!!!

This is Lea Michele from Glee.  Her dress is by Marquesa.  I am not crazy about the sleeves, but it's okay.  The back, however, is STUNNING!

Isn't that fabulous?  I love it!  The back is totally worth the boring sleeve.

Nancy O'Dell (not sure of the designer)

and check out her earrings.  Aren't the fabulous?

Nina Dobrev in Donna Karan

I hate to tell you that I didn't have many favorites that weren't red.  There were a few that were okay.  I did have two to share that I did not love.

Gwyneth Paltrow in a two piece Pucci gown.  Okay, first of all, I looooove Gwyneth.  She is beautiful and has some of the best legs in Hollywood.  But, this dress cuts her in half.  Maybe if it were sheer black in the middle instead of being two pieces?  The other thing is the top part that looks like an upside down heart....well, it's as if she's saying, "Hi.  I'm Gwyneth and these are my boobs".  Um, no thanks.  A little cleavage would've been fine.  I can do without the sheer over the boobs.  Let's leave a little something to the imagination, shall we?

Orange/red velvet jeans by Jean Paul Gaultier

I don't even have words for Alan Cummings outfit above.  I'm at a loss.  I'm speechless.  UGH!

So, did y'all watch?  What were your favorite moments?

Speaking of TV, the fall premiere of the new shows starts tonight.  Woo hoo!

  1. Yes, I did. I actually didn't remember that it was on, but then we started clicking channels and found the red carpet.

I thought of you. Really, I did. I know how much you love the red carpet. I also thought of you when Sheldon from Big Bang won. Woohoo!

Loved the clip you showed. I was so glad that she won the crown. LOL I have loved her since her days on Gilmore Girls.

And I thought so many dresses were stunning this year. I didn't like Gwyneth's either.

    So fun!

  2. I got to watch parts of the show. I'm an awards show junkie too! I was on pins and needles when Charlie Sheen spoke- but he was restrained which was good!

I loved the Best Comedy Actress award presentation too- that was my favorite!

I loved the way Sophie Vegara looked... I love her and I could listen to her talk all day long!

I love the fall season premieres... and I'm really bummed that The Big Bang Theory is premiering on the same night as my kids Meet the Teacher Night.

  3. I didn't even know that it was on tv last night. Thanks for showing us those beautiful red gowns. Wouldn't you love to have an opportunity to wear something like that?

  4. I was bummed I didn't get a chance to watch any of it last night. It's so fun to see what everyone wears. Thanks for giving me a little peak! I love the red dresses, especially Lea Michele's...love the back of it!

  6. My sister and I watched together and were shocked at all the red as everyone walked down the carpet. We didn't like Gwyneth's dress and thought Jane Lynch looked really funny in formal dresses.
Also thought Amy Poehler looked ridiculous!

I liked Sofia Vergara a lot. Awesome body!
