Peace Sign Pillow

So, apparently...I'm a total dork!  Yes, I knew I was a total dork, but occasionally I do something that just reminds me what a dork I truly am.  Let me explain, as I mentioned Monday, my niece's birthday party was Saturday.  My daughter, C, insisted that my niece needed a cool peace sign pillow for her birthday.  She has a rock star/peace sign theme going on in her room and she loves zebra fabric (just like her Aunt Tanya).

For her last birthday I made her this pillowcase.

Guitar/zebra pillowcase.

So, I got some black zebra fabric and C picked out the fabric for the peace sign out of my stash.  I decided to get really brave and make cording and everything, which is something I've never done before.  Wanna see how it turned out?

Ummmmm, notice anything weird about this pillow?  When "C" got home from school, I asked her what she thought about the pillow.  She kind of giggled and said, "Mom, you didn't make K a peace sign pillow, you made her a steering wheel pillow."  Then she showed me the pillow again and I realized, yet again, that I am a total dork!

I always said I'd let you in on my screw ups.  Well, there you go!  My sweet niece, K, got a steering wheel pillow for her birthday.

Just in case you didn't catch it, a peace sign SHOULD look like this:

SUCH A DORK!  Have a great day!

  3. Well, it's a really pretty steering wheel pillow! It's also the Mercedes Benz symbol, so at least we're talking high-end here!

  4. Well, first off, it's GREAT! And I knew that if I could do piping, you certainly could!

And second, I'm a dork too because I didn't know what was wrong with it until you said so.

Could we call it a "steering toward peace" pillow?

    Still love it.

  9. I'm always doing stuff like that! I just sent out B-Day party invites for my oldest and wrote 'Kids's program...' on it. Of course I noticed after I had all of them made and half of them stamped and sealed in an envelope. It's a cute steering wheel pillow though!
