So, as you may know, I have been trying to get my front porch spruced up. I've been wanting to make a wreath of some sort for my front door, which was painted black last week. I picked up a wreath form at DollarTree and some burlap at Wal-Mart.
I have seen many, many versions of the burlap wreath and I love them all. Then last week I saw this adorable rag wreath and I was torn. So, I decided to combine the two of them. I cut my burlap into strips and went to work tying them on.
My dining room table looked like it had snowed from all the fraying burlap fuzz. Lovely. Anyway, I tied and I tied and I tied and I tied until I could barely lift my already very sore arms (durn shoulder presses! UGH!). Anyway, then I made a few fabric flowers using some of the fabric I bought to make pillows for the front porch.
I also added my Modge Podge "M" in the middle. I'm not sure if that part is staying.
I know I need another flower, but I need to add in another fabric - green I think. Hopefully, I can make a trip to the fabric store soon.

Now, that's cute! Personally, I like the big old M in the middle, but I'm pretty much a fan of anything with an initial or monogram...Plus I'm pretty much a mod podge freak too.
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
I LOVE it, Tanya!!!! Wonder if you could find some paper in a zebra print for the "M"?? Looks great!
ReplyDeleteThis is the first wreath that I've seen that I actually would want in my house. It's not too frilly or leafy or feathery or flowery. I LOVE IT! This one is next on my project list for sure. Oh and I just completed a front porch makeover as well. It's not 100% without a wreath though is it? Check it out:

I love it!! I also love the rag wreath that you linked to...so cute and summery!!! I'll be making one soon.
ReplyDeleteLove it!! I especially like how you used the white burlap and not the regular brown. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think it turned out wonderful! I'm currently trying to add a monogram M to a wreath I'm making for my dad. How did you get yours to stay in the middle? I'm thinking fishing wire, but not sure! Any tips? :)
ReplyDeleteCute wreath! It goes perfectly with your new door color! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't that great?!!! Good Job Tanya. Makes me want one.
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking to my rag wreath! I love the variation you did - looks totally hip - and the letter sets it over the top. Great job!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day,
