Valentine's Day Framed Love Note

So, when I was trying to decide what quote (or lyric) I wanted to use for my Valentine's Day Sewn Art, I happened upon a quote that I loved.  "You're nothing short of my everything." - Ralph Block    - Isn't that sweet?  I knew it sounded like something I would say to my Hubby.  Okay so it's a little more poetic than my usual "Baby, you totally rock!"  So, I thought I would make a little love note for Hubby that he could look at everyday, even though I'm quite sure he won't look at it everyday, or tomorrow, or even ever again.  Oh well!  I'll know it's there.  So, let's get started shall we?

I started by searching google for "printible envelope template".  I would LOVE to link you to the one I used, but sadly, I can't find it again.  Sorry.  Anyway, I printed out my template and cut it out.  I traced around the template on to my scrapbook paper, cut it out and folded it into an envelope.  Then I used craft glue to glue down the edges and secured it with paper clips until it dried.

I also added the patterned paper at the top so it would show behind my love note.  Then I went into Word and typed my love note, printed it out and cut it down to size.

My note says, "Beloved - You're nothing short of my everything.  I love you!"  I left Ralph Block's name off of my love note.  I hope he's not offended.  Sorry Ralph!  And, yes, I do call my Hubby "beloved" all the time.  I know.  I'm weird.

Then I found a frame I had stashed in the closet that has been there so long I didn't know I had it.  Love that!  BUT, I couldn't find another piece of scrapook paper to put in the back of the frame.  White wouldn't work because the frame is white.  I had a piece of gold, but it was almost the same color as my wall.  Nope.  I needed black.  I went back to the junk holder closet and came across a black file folder.  YES!

Y'all do that kind of stuff too, right?  You cut up weird things to use as backgrounds in frames.  Seriously,  tell me I'm not the only one.  Anyway, this is how it turned out.

Sorry about the pictures.  I was having a really hard time with the flash and the glare of the lights.

Yes?  No?  Let's try something else.

Yes?  No?

So, what do you think of my love note?  I think I need to go shop my house and find some more color to add to the table.

I'm linking this project to

  1. Such a cute idea and one I may have to "copy" lol. I'm sure your hubby will love it! Thanks for the inspiration! xoxoxo

  2. YES!! I love this so much. I could do it. It was cute enough before you framed it. Then, it had the BAM effect.

I'm glad you left the name off the quote. It would read like Ralph or whatever his name is was writing your beloved a love note.

Pretty sure that's not the idea here. LOL

I really want to copy this. The Man will give me one look and say, "Blogland?"

    But he'll like it.

  3. What a sweet idea! I love how it turned out. I bet your husband will be really touched!

  4. I LOVE your love note! Can I copy? What a great idea. I call my husband weird things too. Like "sugar". Okay, I call everyone sugar...but I mean it especially sweet when I say it to him!

Also...I totally cut up weird things to use as backgrounds in's all good!

  5. Adorable! This idea would be cute for the actual card to give your sweetie.

  6. Yes I love it!!! I think I am going to copy (if that is ok) your idea and make it for my hubbies office. So creative! He will be like where did "you" come up with this... lol (I am not very creative but I am working on it)

PS I think "beloved" shows how much he means to you. so sweet :)

  7. Cute! I really like it! And very pretty envelope :)

  8. Love it, Tanya! Very cute and original.
We had a verse on our wedding programs excerpted from Song of Solomon 5:16 "This is my beloved, and this is my friend" Maybe I should make one and use that verse.
(I like the second arrangement, BTW.)

  9. I'm back to tell you that I think you need to post this on Inspiration Friday at Southern in my Heart. I have thought about this all day and really want to do it. It's such a cute idea.

  10. How cute is that?????? You are so clever! Love that red printed paper!!!

  11. That is so gorgeous!!! And totally from the heart! What a beautiful way to show him how much you love and appreciate him!

Thanks for the great creative idea! You are always so clever!!! :D

I use weird things to make my art all the time!!!! So glad I am not the only one!! LOL

And the fact that you call him beloved...says to me that you understand the gift you have in him and that you really respect and treasure you beloved!!! That's the way we are called to love our hubby's by the one who created us and is LOVE!!! So go for it, dear lady!!!

  12. This is such a cute idea! I was thinking about how you could put one of these in a child's room and leave them special messages. They always love getting "mail". Thank you so much for linking this up to Inspiration Friday this week!
