Check out that lovely "honey oak" orangey stain. Nice, huh? Hello 1993!
So, I primed it with this.
Yes, I am painting in my kitchen. It's 103 degree heat index outside. No thank you!
Then I painted it with Behr Black Suede, (suggested by Sarah at Thrify Decor Chick, per The CSI Project) -two coats and then lightly sanded the edges for a slightly distressed look. I painted the hinges with Satin Nickel spray paint.
Here's the end result.
It's not perfect, but it's sooo much better!

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Tanya, it looks great! Did you use a brush or roller? I've spray-painted chairs and stuff, but for some reason I'm a little nervous about bigger pieces.

Oh wow, that turned out great! Goodness, I just haaaave to re-do my TV stand, too. It is in desperate need of a paint job or something. Toddlers aren't the easiest on furniture if you know what I mean!
