Boring, right? The whole house is tan. The only color was from the bench Hubby painted red for me and the color from the kids bikes, four to be exact! I'm sure our neighbors must think I am the old lady from "There Once Was An Old Lady Who Lived In A Shoe" from all the bikes and/or scooters on the porch. So, we moved the bikes off of the front porch so that it's not quite so obvious that I'm the old lady who lives in a shoe - actually I live in a shoebox size house, but that's another story.
I painted the front door black (find that post here)
and made a new burlap wreath (find that post here).
Then I made some new pillows for my bench (find that post here.)
Let's just pretend that I dusted the bench before I took this picture. You can pretend, right?
This is the current photo:
I still have a lot to do. I still need to paint my chippy white rockers and I still need to add something between the door and the window and get a new doormat, but it's progress anyway.
Run on over to Amanda's and check out everyone's progress.
Looking good! I big red puffy heart the burlap wreath. You know door decor is my thang! I like the Frou Frou Americana look that's coming together - is it ok to call it that?
ReplyDeleteIt most certainly IS progress! Good for you. I love the black front door--that alone makes such a difference! And it looks great with the red bench.
ReplyDeleteI have to stop and remember that progress is worth celebrating!
I love your black front door and think that it really pops with the contrast of your red bench and tan house.
ReplyDeleteI must have missed your wreath post. Love it!!
Your porch is really coming along.
Just painting the front door made a huge difference, but I really love all the other changes. :) The pillows on the bench make things much more homey, and the cute cute wreath breaks up the black. Fabulous!!! Thanks so much for linking up with me...have fun partying. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe black door is perfect! It makes a huge difference! The pillows are perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love what you have done!!! What a huge difference such small changes make! I must admit I am a fabric lover and will be checking out the post about how you made the wreath after I get done here. The pillows on the bench make it so comfy and welcoming. Great colors! So you!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by and celebrating with me today!!
Enjoy and celebrate the progress you have made...excellent work!

ReplyDeleteI am loving the black front door! You did an amzing job.
ReplyDeleteSo welcoming!
I'd say you have made a LOT of progress, especially since this is summer, and I well remember the summer vacation days with little ones around. I never got a thing done but go from one kid thing to the next.
ReplyDeleteI remember some of those things, and I liked them as much as I remember. That burlap wreath is a favorite.
And, what dust? I didn't see a thing...
Don't get too confident. After all, I am nearly 50.
Saw your post on Serenity Now....I love the black door and the red accessories. That's totally what I would do, too!
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with your black door! Nice choice! The red bench is great too!
ReplyDeleteI like the little tin (?) star you have propped in the corner by the door. Any plans for it??
ReplyDeleteLooks great! Amazing what a little black paint can do! And I love the pillows!
