New Knot Top Outfit

What is it with these durn kids?  They are growing like weeds!!!  E grew several inches since last year so she had VERY little she could wear from last year.  So, we had to start all over in the fall wardrobe department.  I haven't had much sewing time lately, but I did manage to make her one thing last week.  I've actually been hoarding this fabric for a looooong time.  I finally decided what I wanted to make with it.

Oh, how I love a knot top.

I just love this fabric.  Look at those bumble bees!!!  Soooo cute!

Of course, I didn't have any matching ribbon on hand so I decided to make a cute barette out of fabric flowers.  I used this tutorial, but got a little lazy and didn't glue as I went, but it worked anyway.

Then I just hot glued them on a barette.

Cute, right?  Umm, betcha can't guess what we had for lunch!

Have a great day!!

  5. I LOVE that fabric!!!! It is gorgeous! And your daughter is such a little lady. I am working on learning to sew clothes. I have sewn home decor items but clothing is new to me. I am starting with aprons and PJ pants for Christmas gifts. Keep your fingers crossed! Oh how I wish you lived closer so you could come and help me for an afternoon and we could eat hot soup and biscuits and talk and talk...and I would learn to sew of course...LOL LOL

    A girl can dream can't she? :)

  6. This is adorable. I bet she feels like a princess in her new outfit.

I'd love it if you'd link this top up at my Top-toberfest show and tell. I"m celebrating shirts this week, so feel free to link up some past projects as well (so long as they are tops).

  7. I absolutely adore custom outfits on children. You're right, the fabric is darling. A bonus with those ruffle bottom pants is when she grows you can add a second ruffle or leave them "short."
