The Weekend is Over, Bring on Christmas!

Well, my weekend was very busy.  As I mentioned, I had a craft show booth this weekend.  We had lots of traffic, but only two sales.  I heard from the other vendors that they had about the same luck so I'm trying not to take it personally.  I had a GREAT time and I met some fabulous people so that part was good.  My daughter, C, put some of her items in the booth too.  She makes collage style journals and sock monkeys.  Her art teacher was sweet enough to come by and buy a journal.  C was so excited to see her favorite teacher and was so happy when Mrs. S called C her "star student".  She smiled from ear to ear the rest of the day.

So, as I said, not many sales, but the good news is that E has four new outfits to wear.  Woo hoo!  That child has been clothes poor since it cooled off.  As for the rest of it, it will be on my etsy site this week, or maybe a giveaway is in order?  Hmmmm.

So, now that this craft show is OVAH, all I can think about is....Christmas.  I've GOT to get something done for the front door.  Maybe I could make a pretty wreath.  I love this one:

Of COURSE, I saw it on Pinterest.  Love the monogram!!

The kids would love this, especially C.

I also love this:

I love the frame and of course I love the red and aqua with the green.  It look just like the kids' bathroom colors!  But, silly me, I asked Hubby's opinion.  WHY do I keep doing that???  His response, "Um.......no".  Okay, moving on.  Of course, it has to be something frugal because after all, I am not rich.  In fact, I am the exact opposite of rich.  So, it's got to be free or inexpensive.  I've got some ideas.  I'm working several days this week but hopefully I'll get some time to work on it.

Also, I am very excited that I was one of the lucky winners from Tracy's blog.  I won 25 Christmas cards from Shutterfly.  WOO HOO!  Now I've just got to take some pictures.  I've got the card all picked out.  Thanks Tracy!!!

So, what about y'all?  Are y'all itching to get your Christmas decor out?

  1. I found the cutest wreath idea on Pinterest (using a wire hanger and a BUNCH of those round ball ornaments). I might be getting a little excited about xmas this year, too.

  2. I won a Shutterfly giveaway, too! Congrats to us both! They did my cards last year and I was not disappointed. I really need to get on Pinterest...if I can just figure out what to do! Love those pretty wreaths!

  3. Sorry you didn't have many sales this weekend. You just never know if people will buy or not.

My Shutterfly cards are lovely, probably the best I've ever had, but I'm warning you that their shipping fees are outrageous!

  4. Sorry you didn't do as good as you wanted. That's always hard :( But very exciting that your daughter was able to sell too!

I LOVE the sock monkey wreath!

  5. That's the thing with a crafts sale, you just never know! But you have fun doing all those nice things and are almost relieved when you get to keep them, eh?!

Yep, ready for Christmas decor!!! Working on it every spare minute!

  6. Sorry the craft show was not a big money-maker for you. That's always tough...
The decor you highlighted is cute...love the first wreath!
I'm not quite ready to decorate for Christmas. I need to get past my daughter's birthday first and then I can think about it.
I am starting to think about Christmas in terms of food and what I want to make for us and for gifts, etc. Yum!

  7. Sorry to hear about the craft show - but at least you got some new clothes out of the deal for C! :) On another note - the wreaths you showcased are really cute and some of my favs on Pinterest too. I'm SO happy you were one of my winners for the Shutterfly cards. I was able to order some as well and I can't wait until they come in! Have a great day my friend! :) xoxoxo

  8. I bought 2 B's for my wreaths this weekend and love the pinterest picture you posted, too! I made wreaths 2 years ago, and like you, cannot afford to re-buy everything new, so the monograms are cheap ways to make them "new!" :)

  9. Oh, I'm ITCHIN'! I am pinning away all my fabulous ideas!

I am soooo ready to bring on the REAL holidays!

I also feel the pain of sitting at a craft show for hours on end, only to come away with just a couple of sales!

But your stuff is fabulous...I vote for a giveaway!

I hope you have a fabulous week!

  10. They are all pretty snazzy to me, and I love the empty frame one. I continually make the mistake of asking my husband. Around here, it's a mistake because he is no help. He just says, "Whatever you like is fine with me."

I think I might prefer an honest NO once in a while.

  11. Oh, those are pretty and super fun wreaths for the door! I think I best continue to stay off pininterest, it looks like it could be dangerous for me, lol. We're onto Christmas mode too over here too...

  12. Oh dear friend - may I please make you a wreath for your door for Christmas? You know I'm passionate about door decor and I have wanted to bless you with something since we first hooked up in bloggy land. This will also give us a good reason to finally meet!
