I don't think many could understand the excitement in my house this morning when we woke up to snow. SNOW!! SNOW IN ARKANSAS, NOT ICE!!!! We have about 4 inches right now and it's still coming down! I still can't believe it. What a wonderful day! I know many of my blogging friends have been getting snow for several weeks and are ready to pull their hair out from being cooped up in the house too long (I may be the same way by Wednesday). For now, I am soooo happy to spend the day dressing (clothes, gloves, hats, etc.) to go outside only to play for 15 minutes just to come back in and undress and put everything in the dryer for the next trip outside. The boots/shoes are lined up in front of the fireplace and I have dried the living room floor of melted snow SEVERAL times today. We have made hot chocolate and had tomato soup and grilled cheese for lunch. We have built a sad little snowman. We have had a snowball fight, several actually. Sadly, we don't have a sled (did I mention it doesn't snow much here?), but I am seriously considering taking a Rubbermaid tub lid to the top of the hill behind my house and hurling myself down on top of it. Maybe I'll try and cookie sheet. That's really sad, isn't it? Talk about your "southern backwoods engineering". Ya make do with what ya got!
I'm thinking homemade chicken noodle soup for supper! YUM!
E getting ready to pelt me with a snowball.
L happy to stomp around in the snow.

Okay, I'm off to boil a chicken. Thanks for checking in. I hope everyone is having a good day!
I hear you.....my floors have never been so clean as they've been lately - we've had rain, rain, rain, and the dogs track in mud. I've mopped 6 times today.
ReplyDeletethe hair on your baby girl! I'm so jealous! :)
How fun for you!
ReplyDeleteWe usually only get a couple snowstorms a year, but I feel like we've had more than our share this year, and I'm tired of it, myself.
Same here! We never made it back outside to build a snowman. It's looking pretty nasty with the rain and sleet pouring down. I had the same idea for supper...chicken noodle soup. Although I hopped on over to mykitchencafe.blogspot.com and she has a yummy chicken and vegetable dumpling soup posted. Same principle as chicken noodle...just sub the dumplings for the egg noodles. Sounds good! Hope the kiddos don't drive you too crazy. Kylie and Maddox have been fighting all day...they're separated for now. Loves!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a ton of fun. We have snow coming this Wednesday. We just missed the big storm that hit the East. Snow is old news with us but we still enjoy the first snowfall of the year.
ReplyDeleteI just came over from Homebody's blog.

You are crazy to be so excited about snow! We are gearing up for our THIRD snowstorm in THREE weeks in my part of the South-- this is starting to get insane. The kids have been out of school more often than they've been in it lately, and at this point, my friends who are teachers will be in class until July 4th!
ReplyDeleteI loved your comment on my blog today-- I think for our next in house date, I'm going to make DH do mud mask facials and pedicures :)

Confessions From A Working Mom
You guys look like you are having so much fun! We have had more snow here this year since the mid-1800's, so we are pretty sick of all the white stuff! It's nice to see someone actually enjoying it - rather than complaining about it - for a change!
ReplyDeleteTake care!
Melissa
Enjoy the snow!! We haven't had a whole lot of snow up here in New England so I'm looking forward to the storm coming our way!
ReplyDeleteWe get just like that when it snows over here in TX. It's just too exciting, and then I pray long and hard that school will not be cancelled!
ReplyDeleteWe also live in Arkansas. We did try a cookie sheet and it worked. What worked absolutely the best is-a skateboard minus the wheels! The kids took of the wheels and the metal stuff and it was like a ski. Very hard to stop : ) I had fun...
